Diversity Autobiography
This assignment was created by Ann Fischer and modified by Mary Kite. Students write a brief autobiographical sketch in which they analyze the significant experiences (including cumulative experiences of "small things that add up") that have, in part, made them the people they are today. This analysis is based on three of the following five dimensions of diversity:
- Race or ethnicity
- Gender/Gender Identity
- Social class
- Sexual Orientation
- Ability Status
An important part of the assignment are the connections students make to their experiences and the course material.
