Ageism
The term "Ageism" was coined in 1969 by Robert Neil Butler to describe discrimination against older adults.Butler broke down ageism into three connecting parts: prejudicial attitudes toward the older people, old age, and the aging process. Institutional practices and policies influence the prejudicial attitudes toward older people. Ageism has also been used in to describe prejudicial attitudes toward adolescents and the concept of ignoring the young because of the assumption that they lack of knowledge or experience.
