Classism
Classism is a term used to describe differential treatment based on social class or perceived social class position. This differential treatment can be seen at the systematic level where one group becomes the dominant class at the expense of another group. This systematic assignment cultivates characteristics of worth based on social class position. Classism is held in place by cultural attitudes and systematic beliefs that rank people based on their economic status, family ties, occupation, and level of education.
