Ableism
Ableism is defined as the systemic discrimination against people with disabilities. People with disabilities make up the largest "minority" group in the United States. Ableism upholds the idea that anyone that does not have the "norm" ability status (the corporeal standard) are lesser than those who do. Systems are built and maintained without considering access for those with diverse ability statuses - upholding ableism in major facets of society such as education, government, the workface, and more.
